The best ways to clean and maintain your carpet flooring

When purchasing carpets, you need to follow these tips to ensure you don't ruin your carpet and also save costs. How can you save money? By following these tips, there will be no need for you to rent a steam cleaner. If your house does have a carpet or you are thinking of buying carpets online, then you need to know how to deep clean them first without a carpet steam cleaner.

If you've got a pet who loves to walk mud through the home, or a clumsy family member who is likely to spill red wine on a daily basis, then you need to know how to get carpet stains out. Keep your floors looking clean and sparkly so you can improve your hosting experience. Have a clean carpet to help you feel happy in your home.

Ingredients for carpet cleaning required:

These include baking soda OR dish soap, both should work. You will also require a towel, a bucket full of soapy water and a towel or old toothbrush you won't be using anymore. Follow these steps in this order and feel proud of your plush and fresh carpet:

1) Get a bucket of warm water and have your preferred cleaning tool at the ready (old toothbrush).

2) You then need to vacuum over the stain to get rid of the dirt and dust that has built up. You will not want to be scrubbing dirt into the carpet.

3) The third step depends on the size of the stain. One tablespoon of dish soap per 6 inches of the stain should be enough to give it a thorough scrub.

4) Carpet cleaning needs to be done thoroughly. Scrub the dish soap into the stain until it starts to get foamy and bubbly.

5) Then dab the stain with a towel bathed in warm water. You won't want to ruin your carpet so don't go too hard.

6) Make sure you have not soaked the floor. Make it wet enough to scrub away the dirt though.

7) Allow natural air to flow through the room where the stain was by opening windows. This will help the carpet to dry more quickly.

8) Go over it again once it is dry. Vacuum away the dust.

Follow these steps on cleaning your carpet and then the carpet cleaning will come naturally. A steam cleaner should be an annual event, not a monthly event.
