So, what makes our Floortex range so special?

As we have shown, this flooring range is aesthetically pleasing and extremely varied when it comes to interior design styles. At the affordable price of £8.99 m², it is one of the most competitively priced vinyl ranges on the UK flooring market. However, the benefits of this flooring do not stop at what is visible at first glance. This vinyl flooring features a ‘felt back’, giving it a huge range of practical benefits for your home.

The benefits of Felt Back Vinyl:

Everyone can see how amazing these designs are on the surface, however what a lot of people do not realise is that what is underneath the surface is perhaps even more important when it comes to vinyl flooring. This much needed felt-back under-layer provides water resistant properties, long-wearing durability, and that soft under-foot feel that we all crave. However, you should choose your vinyl wisely depending upon which features are important to you to gain from your flooring.

There are two popular types of vinyl backing: cushion-back and felt-back. So, you may be asking, why is this relevant? Well, our brand new Floortex vinyl range features felt backing, offering you and your family many practical benefits to enjoy.

Firstly, felt-back vinyl does not have as high a risk of tearing as its cushion-back counterpart due to the thickness, wear layer and the overall firmness of the material. Therefore, if you are after something that can withstand heavy traffic for a busy home, this may be the best flooring option for you.

Secondly, this felt vinyl backing can be laid on top of slightly undulated or uneven surfaces – making that installation process even more straightforward! You can save time on preparation when it comes to fitting your new vinyl floors. Therefore, if you are handy around the house and fit the specification of a DIY-er, using our Vinyl Fitting Guide to install our flooring yourself, Floortex vinyl may be an option worth considering.

Whilst this is all positive, as indicated by its name, cushion-back vinyl is the softest option underfoot. Therefore, if major softness and ultimate comfort is most important to you in terms of flooring, maybe one of our cushion-back ranges is a better Flooring Direct Fit for you.

Listening to our customer feedback

However, we have learnt from our customers that achieving a more authentic finish from vinyl flooring is often a top priority. For this reason, to gain a more realistic flooring tile or wooden ‘touch’ or ‘feel’, felt-back vinyl may be more appealing to you. Plus, it is still soft and warm underfoot- just to a lesser extent compared to cushion back vinyl!
