Why you should consider artificial grass!
We recommend that everybody seriously consider it for the aesthetics, low maintenance, and longevity. It is important to consider the drainage potential of your artificial grass also. If your budget is an issue, then you should look here at some of the cheaper types of artificial grass.
As a leading stockist that makes it easy to purchase artificial grass online, we understand the materials and why they are becoming so popular.
Why is it so good?
One of the greatest things about artificial grass is that it can be laid on a wide array of different hard surfaces. For example you could place it over concrete, a brick patio, or even timber decking. The only thing that is required is that the area will drain efficiently to prevent waterlogging.
If you do plan to place the turf on a hard surface it is important to take steps to make sure it won’t move around when it is walked on. You generally can’t fix it down with anchoring pins because of the surface’s hardness. As a result you need to use a special adhesive that will hold for the long term.
Before laying artificial grass
Before laying artificial grass you need to remove any debris from the hard surface, including dust and dirt. You don’t want anything in the way that could potentially affect the performance of the adhesive and lead to premature debonding. Give it a good clean and allow it to dry fully if you had to use any water to clean.
The next step is to unroll your grass and stretch it out so that any ripples are removed. Once this is done you can work around the perimeter of the materials adding the adhesive to the underside and placing them back down. If you need to you can put adhesive on the entire area but keep in mind it will impact how much you need to invest.
Once all of the rolls of grass are laid and the adhesive is in place you need to use a carpet roller to flatten them. This will improve the finish but take care not to damage the pile.
Maintain artificial grass
The final thing to do is give the new surface a once over with a stiff bristled brush. This will improve how the pile looks and removes any dirt. Periodic brushing is generally the only maintenance you will need to do.
